Kaya Everyone and Welcome to Week 8,  I hope you have a fantastic weekend and take some time out to relax.  Monday is World Down Syndrome Day (21st of March) If you can, please remind your child to bring in a gold coin donation for the day.  We have painted our socks which are drying off over the weekend and will be ready for Monday.  Homework A lot of students forgot to bring their homework in for marking today.  Please remind them that they need to bring it in every two weeks on a Friday for marking before the new lot is given the following week.  The next time the homework is due is Friday the 1st of April.   Merit Award Congratulations to Zeph Whitcombe for this week. Fantastic stuff! Keep the great efforts up.  Character Strength for the Week  Dear Parents, currently at OLC we are focusing on modelling and observing different character strengths. This week we are looking for people who show honesty. "And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free". John 8:

Dear Parents, Families and Caregivers,  What a crazy busy (short) week we have had in 5R!  Today we had our class mass which was a great opportunity for the students to reflect on the meaning of Lent and how we can take action to walk in the footsteps of Jesus during this time.  Take a look at some of the images I have attached from the reverent  time we had together this afternoon.  Merit Awards  Congratulations to Isla McLaren for this weeks merit award and to Scarlett Bickett for last weeks Star Citizen award for compassion.  Homework  Please access the last blog if you needed a reminder on the homework the students are to be completing at the moment.  On Monday students need to bring in their homework books so that they can glue in some extra times tables practice for the week. Friday they also need to bring it in for fortnightly marking.  A  message from Miss Hurst in year 6 about World Down Syndrome Day:  Dear Parents,  As you may already be aware World Down Syndrome Day on the 2

Kaya and Welcome to Week 6  Good evening parents, families and caregivers,  I hope you have had a wonderful break over the long weekend and enjoyed some time with your family and friends. Can you believe that we have only a month of term left?  Just a few notices for this short and sweet three day week ahead:  Character Strength:  This week we are focusing on "forgiveness."  At OLC we are focusing on modelling and observing different character strengths.  "If we do not strive to forgive and to love, we will not be forgiven and loved either" Pope Francis. Homework I've noticed after marking two weeks worth of homework (reading log and times tables practice) that many students found it difficult to access or upload their reading log. As a result of this, I have decided that I will hand out a hard copy to each student that can be glued straight into their book.  I will provide the students with a new reading log page at the start of each fortnightly block.
