Kaya 5L parents,  It is week 9 & feeling fine!  As some of you are aware I am a mad North Melbourne supporter and am in a VERY good mood after last night. Kaya 5L Parents,  I am living for this 4 day working week! I hope you all enjoyed the long weekend. I certainly did as I got to spend time with my family who were down from Perth. There are a few lucky duckies who have had a extra extra long weekend... Eva and Betty, we miss you & hope you have had a wonderful holiday!  It is been very busy in 5L in the past few weeks. I must say that we are really enjoying working with the lights dimmed and with soft focus music playing in the background.  We are in the middle of writing our Narratives and have had the traumatic experience of learning long multiplication.... welcome to Year 5 maths. Please keep an eye out for some of our work on Seesaw in the next half of the Term. Kaya 5L parents,  Happy Week 2!  We are off to a flying start but can see by the end of the week that swimming would of taken it's toll. I am enjoying getting to know the kids and developing our Year 5L team. I look forward to meeting more of you and chatting about life ... oh and your child. It is a pleasure to be seeing so many familiar faces around.  For those who know me, I keep things very simple.  My one wish for the year is to convert at least one student into a North Melbourne supporter (During the months of March to September, my main focus is AFL followed by a close second of teaching). If I have taught your child in Year 3, you'd know that this is an ongoing goal and I am yet to succeed.  As much as I enjoy a laugh and joke, we are to always uphold the values of Respect and Honesty.  Kaya Parents and Families of 5R and Welcome to Week 3 Time is already flying by.... Just a few reminders:  5R Assembly this Friday  Please make sure your child has sorted some clothing they want to wear (as their grandparents).  They need this at school by Tuesday so that we have it for all of our dress rehearsals in the lead up to Friday. Science  This week we are going to be doing a light experiment in class and the students will need a small handheld torch. If possible, to send this in with your child on Tuesday also, that would be fantastic!
